VACCINATION REQUIREMENT
For the endurance and flourishing of our shared mission, this April’s in-person gathering at our Annual Meeting will be essential. As we prepare for our return to face-to-face collaboration, assuming that it is safely possible to do so, it is imperative we all do what we can to ensure that we and our colleagues are optimally protected against the spread of COVID-19.
Acting on CDC guidance and the advice from Board-certified infectious disease MD advisors, the Cristo Rey Network national office, on behalf of the member schools and in order to promote participant safety, has instituted the following policy:
All Annual Meeting 2022 attendees must have received their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines, and, when eligible, be “up to date” with all recommended booster doses. Participants must demonstrate that they are and will remain “up to date” through April 8, 2022 by providing their vaccination records during the registration process.
The CRN national office event representative will review all vaccination records provided, and may, in some cases, need to contact registrants with clarifying questions regarding their status.
For more information on definitions of “up to date” and additional specifications on Primary Series and Booster Doses, visit the CDC’s Vaccines Page.
FAQ'S
CAN I QUALIFY FOR AN EXCEPTION OR EXEMPTION?
Since the Annual Meeting is a large group professional convening, to keep everyone safe, at this time the Cristo Rey Network national office is unable to approve individual exceptions to the policy as stated, nor will they allow for vaccine exemptions that an individual may have received for health, personal, religious, or any other reasons - even if that exemption is documented.
CAN I PROVIDE A NEGATIVE TEST RESULT OR PROOF OF RECENT INFECTION INSTEAD?
A recent negative COVID-19 test result, or proof of COVID-19 infection within the 90 days prior to the Annual Meeting, will not be accepted in place of being “up-to-date” with the CDC’s recommended vaccine series.
I HAVE RECEIVED MY PRIMARY DOSE(S), BUT I AM NOT YET ELIGIBLE FOR A BOOSTER SHOT. DOES THAT MEAN I AM “UP TO DATE”?
If an individual has received his or her second dose of Pfizer or Moderna 5 months or less -or a single dose of J&J 2 months or less- from the dates of the Annual Meeting, they meet the policy requirements.
However, if the primary series doses were received more than 5 months before these dates, an individual must receive his or her booster dose before arriving to meet the policy requirements. Proof of that booster dose must then be provided as well.
I WILL RECEIVE MY SECOND PRIMARY SERIES DOSE OR BOOSTER DOSE AFTER THE REGISTRATION PERIOD CLOSES. CAN I STILL REGISTER?
Yes. As long as you will receive your second dose at least two weeks before attending, you can proceed with your travel plans, but must provide your updated vaccination record prior to arrival.
CAN I ATTEND VIRTUALLY?
At this time, CRN is proceeding with an in-person only attendance plan. Therefore, there will be no remote or virtual attendance opportunity. The national office staff will continue to monitor all circumstances that may necessitate a change to this position, and inform all parties IF a virtual or hybrid solution will be offered.
WILL ATTENDEES NEED TO PROVIDE A NEGATIVE TEST RESULT AT ANY POINT BEFORE OR UPON ARRIVAL?
No, though we absolutely and strongly encourage all participants to remain mindful of exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, get tested accordingly before travel, and to stay home if you have any concerns about your health.
WHAT IF I BEGIN EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS WHILE ON-SITE?
Do not attend any additional sessions. Isolate and follow the advice of your healthcare provider. Please notify event staff if you do test positive for Covid so that we can alert close contacts to monitor their own symptoms.
